I recommend using 16ct Linen or 14ct Aida or Evenweave Fabric in a medium blue

On 32ct fabric, stitching 2 over 2 will give you:
9.6 x 9.4 inches (24.3cm x 24cm)

On 14ct fabric, stitching 1 over 1 will give you:
10.9 x 10.8 inches (27.8cm x 27.4cm)

Add margins to your fabric so the design is not too close to the sides
